Artist's Comments
Ivy let out a long sigh, frost creeping outward from where she sat. Maple brushed a finger through the ice crystals, Sunflower's arms draped over her shoulders in her last desperate attempt to keep warmth in the air. Spring blinked slowly, almost catatonic in the way she moved, half asleep, half frozen in the rapidly cooling air.
It was a cycle they were well familiar with. Lily would come waltzing through, dancing and singing and generally being graceful. She kissed all the flowers awake, brushing the last of Ivy's frost away. Sunflower blew threw next on a blistering hot breeze. She was bold and bubbly and laugh-out-loud. She was a bit fiery too, her temper not always in check. Maple would sneak in, coming up behind when one least expected it. She was the mischievous one, calm but ominous she hinted at danger to come. Ivy was the last to arrive, always regal and elegant in her movements. She moved slow, but with purpose, on silent feet. They continued their dance for eons, through time and time, never stopping, never tiring, never faltering. Photo by: Kaylee W. We love you sunshine!
